A Russian manicure (also called a dry manicure or e-file manicure) skips water and soaking. The technician uses an electric file with fine bits to lift and remove the cuticle and the thin layer of dead skin around the nail plate, then applies gel colour under the cuticle line. The result looks grown-in rather than painted on, and stays clean for three to four weeks because there is no regrowth gap in the first days.
In Dubai the Russian manicure has become one of the most searched nail services. The catch is the hands doing it: the method needs real training, because an inexperienced technician can thin the nail or cut the skin. CHOOSE ME was built on this technique in Moscow in 2017. Our technicians pass an internal exam on e-file work, hygiene and the brand standard before they book a single client in Dubai.
Every Russian manicure at CHOOSE ME includes nail shaping, cuticle work with sterile bits opened in front of you, gel colour or a nude finish, and our 15-minute hand massage. Design, French and strengthening with builder gel are added on request.

Russian manicure vs regular manicure: what is the difference?
A regular (classic) manicure soaks the hands in water and trims the cuticle with nippers, then paints over the nail. A Russian manicure works dry with an electric file, removes the cuticle and dead skin more precisely, and places the colour under the cuticle line. It takes longer (60 to 90 minutes), lasts longer (3 to 4 weeks) and looks cleaner for the whole period.
What is a Russian gel manicure?
The same dry e-file technique finished with gel colour instead of regular polish. Gel cures under a lamp, does not chip and lasts until the nail grows out. At CHOOSE ME we use only brands with proven adhesion and no harsh acids in the base.
Is the Russian manicure safe?
Performed by a trained technician with sterilised tools it is a safe cosmetic procedure. The risks people read about come from untrained hands: over-filing the nail plate or cutting the skin. Our technicians are examined on the method, every bit is sterilised in an autoclave and opened from a sealed pouch at your table, and we keep the natural nail intact. As with any e-file work there is a small risk of skin irritation; tell your technician about skin conditions, diabetes or blood-thinning medication.
How much does a Russian manicure cost in Dubai?
At CHOOSE ME a Russian manicure with gel colour is AED 180 with a Master, AED 205 with a Top Master and AED 220 with a Brand Master, VAT included. Removal of previous gel is AED 25 within the service.
Do you do a Russian pedicure and Russian hard gel manicure?
Yes. The SMART pedicure uses the same dry e-file approach for feet (see the pedicure page), and the Russian technique is the base for every builder gel and hard gel manicure we do.
How long does a Russian manicure take?
60 to 90 minutes with gel colour, longer with complex design or builder gel. Removal of the previous gel adds 15 to 20 minutes.
Do you offer Russian manicure home service in Dubai?
At the opening stage we work only in the studio: the sterilisation protocol and lamps need a studio setup. Home service is on the list once the flagship is running.
